By 2007 China's On-Line Games to be in excess of $510 million
"...the global market for online games expected to hit $15 billion by 2005, according to global consulting firm Accenture. International Data Corp (IDC) reported that the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Japan, will see revenue growth for online games increase 19 percent annually until 2008 and will exceed $1.84 billion in subscription revenue by that year. The report also said that South Korea currently is leading the Asia-Pacific region with $397.1 million in subscription revenue last year. It is followed by China, with $159.7 million, and Taiwan, with $170.4 million in subscription revenue. However, China is the one to watch, as its online gaming market grew almost 46 percent in 2003, and within the next two years, MMORGs (massive multi-player online role-playing games) are expected to dominate its online gaming market..."

Game Console Sales: Sony PlayStation 2 breaks 70 million units
"PlayStation 2 has shipped more than 70 million consoles and 572 million games, which puts it ahead of the first PlayStation at the same stage in its life. By comparison the Xbox has sold 14 million units world-wide and the GameCube 14.8 million."

Report Values Online Gaming At $1.4 Billion
The Themis Group has today released its latest report on online gaming, estimating that world-wide online gaming revenues for 2004 will be $1.4 billion, up from $766 million in 2002 and $960 million in 2003. Estimated world-wide revenues for 2008 are put at $4.10 billion.
